Bible League Canada

Bibles for Missions (BFM) partners with Bible League Canada (TBLC) to connect people around the world to God’s Word. The relationship between BFM and TBLC began more than 20 years ago, in 1989, when two TBLC supporters travelled to India to see the ministry firsthand. The abject need in India shocked them; together they decided they had to do something to help. Something big. When they returned to Canada, they started the first Bibles for Mission Thrift Store in Chilliwack, BC. Since then, all net proceeds produced by BFM Foundation (Canada) member stores have been provided to Bible League Canada for their mission work around the world.

Today, Bible League Canada continues in close partnership with the BFM Foundation (Canada) which currently has 38 member BFM Thrift Stores across Canada.

Bible League Canada (TBLC) is a Christian charity which connects people to the Living Word of God worldwide so that those prepared by the Holy Spirit will be brought into relationship with Christ and His Church. The work of Bible League Canada strategically places God’s Word through four ministry access platforms:

Church Planting:

Bible League Canada provides training to indigenous Christians called to establish churches in un-churched areas. The training and resource materials given enable these individuals to be more effective and strategic as they deposit the seeds of the gospel into the soil of hearts of broken people. Indigenous (native) church planters are the most effective since they know the language, culture and values of their own nation and countrymen.

Adult Bible-based Literacy:

In the developing world, illiteracy is rampant and is the strongest indicator of poverty, malnourishment, and premature death. Because of practical lessons taught in economic skills, basic hygiene, and marketplace math, income often triples in the first year, diseases and sickness are abated, and above all believers blossom with new hope in the Lord.

Children’s Ministry:

Children ages 7-14 have the highest conversion rate to becoming followers of Christ and are least likely to abandon their faith as they become older. As children in developing nations make a decision to follow Christ they often influence their mothers to do the same, mothers in turn influence their husbands and Christian families become powerful agents of change in their communities.

Persecuted Church:

In many countries, disinterested, intolerant and uncaring governments and communities may make sharing the gospel challenging. Bible League Canada supports Christians through prayer and by providing Bibles and the resources they need to continue their ministry.

The Word of God transforms lives, communities, even whole nations! The impact begins in the hands and hearts of individuals who want to share God’s Word with others.
